On Saturday, August 8, at 8:00 p.m., fagotto books will inaugurate “MYTHINK: Art in the Courtyard” in its courtyard in Lefkada, presenting a curated collection of contemporary design posters.
Drawing inspiration from Greek myths and stories of antiquity, MYTHINK offers a fresh and creative reinterpretation of Greece’s cultural heritage. Mythology, tradition, culture and people serve as sources of inspiration for artworks and objects designed by Greek creatives and produced in Greece.
At the heart of the exhibition is the ODYSSEY series, a contemporary visual interpretation of Homer’s epic. The series is an independent work created prior to—and not in response to—the new film adaptation of The Odyssey.
The exhibition also features the series REBETIKO, WOMEN OF GREECE, TIMELESS WORDS, SUMMER VIBES and LEFKADA OF THE PAST, exploring themes such as rebetiko music, the presence and contribution of women, philosophy, the Greek summer and the cultural memory of Lefkada.
“MYTHINK: Art in the Courtyard” creates an open dialogue between past and present. Familiar figures, symbols and narratives from Greek mythology are given a new visual identity and reintroduced to the public through the perspective of contemporary Greek creativity.
The exhibition will remain open to the public throughout the summer and can be visited during the bookshop’s regular opening hours.
