Lefkada island has been voted as the “Best Sailing Destination” in the Greek Travel Awards organized for the first time by the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO). The honor was given at the World Travel Market London, the annual exhibition for travel industry professionals that took place during November 7-9. The main objective of the awards was to introduce UK travelers to Greece's undiscovered places by offering and promoting alternative regional destinations and alternative tourism models. The results are from the vote of professionals in the sector (tourism operators and influential travelers from the UK).
