The Music and Philological Association of Lefkada “Orpheus 1937” presents a series of festive events dedicated to the 162nd anniversary of the Union of the Ionian Islands with Greece.

The celebrations will take place in Lefkada from 11 to 23 May 2026, featuring an art exhibition, a mandolin concert, an official doxology, and a choir gathering.

7th Pan-Lefkadian Art Exhibition

The programme begins with the 7th Pan-Lefkadian Art Exhibition, which will be held from 13 May to 19 May 2026.

The opening ceremony will take place on Wednesday, 13 May 2026, at 21:00.

from Thursday, 14 May to Tuesday, 19 May 2026.

Mandolin Concert

On Saturday, 16 May 2026, at 20:30, the Mandolin Ensemble of the Music and Philological Association of Lefkada “Orpheus” will present a concert at the Holy Church of Agioi Anargyroi in Lefkada.

Official Doxology

On Thursday, 21 May 2026, at 11:00, an official doxology will be held at the Holy Church of Pantokrator in Lefkada.

The ceremony will include a speech, hymns, and a wreath-laying.

37th Choir Gathering

The celebrations will conclude on Saturday, 23 May 2026, at 19:00, with the 37th Choir Gathering, held at the Music School of Lefkada.

Participating choirs include:

  • Children’s Choir of the Music and Philological Association of Lefkada “Orpheus”
  • Mixed Choir of Preveza “Ichchromata”
  • Mixed Choir of the Music and Dance Association “Nea Chorodia Lefkadas”
  • Mixed Choir of the Cultural Association of Arta “O Makrygiannis”
  • Mixed Choir of the Music and Philological Association of Lefkada “Orpheus”
