No visit to Lefkada would be complete without soaking up the sun at Egremni beach. The truth is that this super-photogenic place which is hugged by vertical limestone cliffs and lapped by aquamarine waters that look almost too good to be real, will grab your full attention the moment you set eyes on it. Egremni beach beckons beachgoers who seek the tranquillity of being one with nature and a big part of the appeal is its impeccable scenery combined with its glistening, champagne-hued sand. The beach itself stretches for 2.5 km and despite its popularity, has somehow managed to remain pristine.
Access by land
The beach is located on the south-western coast of the island and it's a 30-minute drive from the city of Lefkada. For more than 6 years the only way to reach Egremni was by boat, but from 2021 the beach is again accessible on foot. The road which leads to the wild virgin beach of Egremni begins some kilometres south from Athani. There is a parking area above the beach. You may also leave your car on the road but be careful because the road is not so wide. To go to the beach, you have to go down a flight of stairs (it will take you about 10 minutes) but the prize you receive when you finish down it, is beyond your imagination.
